Since yesterday, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy for America have raised over $300,000 from over 14,500 grassroots donors for the new TV ad accusing Gov. Walker and Republicans of "class warfare" against working families. The average contribution -- $22. This incredible flood of support has allowed us to expand coverage of this ad and get it into the mainstream. Watch the ad now and chip in $3 to help amplify the voices of Wisconsin workers.
We will be expanding coverage of the ad to include --
- Weekend broadcast and cable in Madison and Milwaukee -- including local and national Sunday news shows like Meet The Press and This Week.
- Broadcast and cable in the opening days of next week.
- The Daily Show and the Colbert Report in opening days of next week -- targeting youth who are key to the current pro-worker movement and to future elections.
- Expansion into other Wisconsin markets, and into future days next week, to be announced.
This ad, produced by independent videographers Jim Cole and Aaron Duffey of Maine, has already received rave reviews. On MSNBC last night, Rachel Maddow called our new TV ad "the most pointed, stand-with-the-people-who-work-for-a-living ad that we have seen for a very long time." Lawrence O'Donnell said, “The ad is beautiful film making. I’m really quite struck by it.” Harvard Professor and Internet guru Lawrence Lessig wrote us this note, which we emailed to PCCC members today, ""The substance is great. The videography is extraordinary. Congratulations.” Over 70,000 people watched the YouTube video in 1 day.
PCCC co-founder Adam Green said, "Gov. Walker and the Republican Party's poll numbers are in the tank as a result of their class warfare against working families. As grassroots folks keep chipping in for this ad at WarOnWorkingFamilies.com, we're going to stay on offense and drive the Republicans' popularity even lower until they cave or get recalled from office."
