We're very excited to partner with the Daily Kos community on State of the Nation and horserace polling through the 2012 election cycle. But more than that, we've been proud to work with you for years before this on the issues we all care deeply about.
Look no further than Wisconsin.
Working with Chris Bowers, we were able to sign-up hundreds of volunteers from Wisconsin to take part in the recall canvasses that took place over the weekend. We also worked together to turn out members of this community to the solidarity rallies that happened across the country two weeks ago.
Our members who stand to lose their rights under Scott Walker's imperial regime thank you.
It's almost impossible to quantify the importance of the netroots / union relationship. With labor reporters dropping like flies at traditional media outlets, the work of diarists and front page authors, like Laura and Jake, talking about the issues important to working families is more important than ever.
And at SEIU we recognize and respect good organizing.
We've seen it recently through your work on filibuster reform and over the years in electoral campaigns - and that's to say nothing of the individual campaigns run in the diaries over the years (roses for Pelosi, support packages for the troops and "Maura in VA's" work around HB1677 in 2005 come to mind immediately).
And hopefully by now you recognize that we have quite a bit of fight in us ourselves.
So, if you're interested in keeping up with what we're up to there are several ways to do that today.
1.) Follow us on Daily Kos. We plan on being a lot more active in this community going forward. In fact, many of the new media staff are long-time members here.
2.) Follow us on Twitter (LINK)
3.) Like us on Facebook (LINK)
4.) Visit our blog (LINK) - we keep it updated regularly with information about our members and the issues we all care about.
Thanks for reading. We'll be around in the comments throughout the day to continue the conversation.
