You really cannot make this shit up. I was literally catching flies with my mouth on the floor as I listened to William Daley on Meet the Press stating that it wasn’t the role of a politician, let alone a president, to weigh in on judicial matters.
Right Billy boy, got it. Now, tell me how does it feel to say that with a straight face, knowing the it is the President of the United States who nominates Supreme Court Justices? Let alone nominates and oversees the Attorney General of the United States? And BTW, this doesn't even include his cabinet members or his nomination for Chair of the Federal Reserve.
Mr. Daily went on and on, and after a while I could only picture him fully dressed as a court jester, joker, fool, wit-cracker, prankster or buffoon: I mean take your pick of adjectives but they all apply in this case.
I kept thinking to myself over and over again. Is this guy serious? I mean doesn't he even realize what he is saying? After I listened to the rest of his 'case' as to why the President was not responsible or had no place in addressing the most catastrophic economic meltdown in our nation's history and the 'meme' that he had no responsibility in providing leadership and input to oversee AG Holder, Mr. Daley went on to (LOL) explain to the American people (that would be the philistines, peasants and people that he perceives to be ignorant about such matters), that this was really a job for 'Producers and Directors' to take care of (such as Charles Ferguson, the Academy Award winning Director of 'Inside Job.')
(Shakes my head, and does a face palm).
“I think the president, no one has been more out front on the need for financial reform,” said Daley. “Obviously the justice system will take its place and the politicians should not engage in trying to say who should be prosecuted or who should not. That is not a responsible thing to do. You have a number of attorney generals moving forward on cases that are legitimate. But the president felt very strongly -- that’s why he fought so hard for national regulatory reform -- that the system has got to change.
“Most of the laws that the financial sector worked under were enacted closer to the Civil War than to this century. He fought, it was tough, to be honest with you, I was in an industry that… fought many of it, not all of it, probably 85 percent of it the industry wanted. They wanted to stop too-big-to-fail and a number of other of things. But it was controversial, difficult, but he hung in there and got what he wanted.”
Pressed a bit further, Daley refused once again to say whether “it is illegitimate or not” for the people to demand jail time for the culprits of the crash. “Politicians should not get involved. Producers, directors can do that. But politicians should not get involved.”

The President is the Commander-in-Chief of this nation, and to suggest that he is not as responsible for the outrageous illegal treatment of Bradley Manning, or that he has repeatedly set the agenda for the endless wars while private contractors are stealing billions of dollars, or that he recently approved yet another deep water well to resume drilling in 6,500 feet of water off the coast of Louisiana (so soon after the most hideous and preventable so called accident that devastated the Gulf), is ridiculous.
Someone should explain to this idiot, the new Chief of Staff, what the meaning of: THE BUCK STOPS HERE is all about.
Perhaps Mr. Daley accidentally thought he was on Fox News when he made the statement that: "Most of the laws that the financial sector worked under were enacted closer to the Civil War than to this century." Perhaps Mr. Daley thought he was talking to a bunch of red neck idiots that don't know any better. Perhaps Mr. Daley needs a history lesson on Banking Laws:
The Securities Act came out in 1933, the Securities Exchange Act in 1934. That’s 68 and 69 years, respectively, after the end of the Civil War. That’s 78 and 77 years ago. By touting his Republican banksta propaganda, what this idiot is trying to do is to some how make us believe that such laws are so old and ignored, when not only does he lie with a straight face, but in face, the truth of the matter, is that the Fake Financial Reform Bill has does nothing to address the TBTF corruption, nor has it addressed the most egregious illegal transfer of wealth in our nation, by holding those responsible who have gotten away with economic terrorism. Ever hear of the Glass-Steagall Act Mr. Daley? Perhaps he forgot about the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. And of course he didn't even touch on the current Fake Financial Reform bill, which in essence was a 'Lobbyist Wet Dream,' instead of real reform.
So Politicians should not 'get involved,' Mr. Daley? Well who in the hell do you think makes the laws of this nation, and who in the hell do you think reports to President Obama? Granted, it is not up to politicians to obstruct justice either for or against criminal investigations, however, it is up to the Department of Justice to do so and if they refuse to do so, then the the President who in charge of the Department of Justice is either either negligent, corrupt and an accessory after the fact. Take your pick. You can't have it both ways buddy.
I keep trying to figure out why President Obama hired this idiot. I mean, this is the guy that sits outside of the Oval Office, and makes the decisions as to who, what, when and where, will be allowed to have the President's ear for all of the major decisions for our nation. This appearance on Meet the Press was Mr. Daley's first national debut as the President's right hand person, and if this appearance is any indication of how the so called 'narrative' is to be played out in the press for the next few years, I'm afraid the Democratic party is in for a very ugly, embarrassing rude awakening. I still can't believe this guy actually worked for JP Morgan and holds more than $7.6 million worth of stock in JPMorgan Chase, according to a regulatory filing. As Vice Chairman at JPMorgan Chase he holds 175,678 shares in the $2.1 trillion behemoth, the nation’s second-largest bank by assets. Daley headed the firm’s Corporate Responsibility division, which included oversight of the firm’s lobbyists and relations with government officials. I mean, again, why did Obama hire to man? Every single thing he said on Meet the Press made him look like a juvenile who was trying to pass a lie detector test on crack. I won't even go into the way that this idiot reflects on the President. It's too painful to even speculate on that.
Yes, by all means, Mr. Daley, let's leave it up to the Producers and Directors of Hollywood to prosecute Wall St./the Bankstas, but I don't recall any of them taking the Oath of office as the President of the United States to Preserve, Protect, and Defend the Constitution. Perhaps Mr. or others at the White House have not had the time to understand what is going on in Wisconsin and across our nation: The jig is up, and everyone in this nation knows exactly how we got here and why we got here.
From Michael Moore's speech in Wisconsin:
Let me say that again. 400 obscenely rich people, most of whom benefited in some way from the multi-trillion dollar taxpayer "bailout" of 2008, now have more loot, stock and property than the assets of 155 million Americans combined. If you can't bring yourself to call that a financial coup d'état, then you are simply not being honest about what you know in your heart to be true.
And I can see why. For us to admit that we have let a small group of men abscond with and hoard the bulk of the wealth that runs our economy, would mean that we'd have to accept the humiliating acknowledgment that we have indeed surrendered our precious Democracy to the moneyed elite. Wall Street, the banks and the Fortune 500 now run this Republic -- and, until this past month, the rest of us have felt completely helpless, unable to find a way to do anything about it.
The smug rich have overplayed their hand. They couldn't have just been content with the money they raided from the treasury. They couldn't be satiated by simply removing millions of jobs and shipping them overseas to exploit the poor elsewhere. No, they had to have more – something more than all the riches in the world. They had to have our soul. They had to strip us of our dignity.
Just in case anyone forgot, this is what a responsible Democrat is supposed to look like:
I leave you all with a song for these troubled times and it is my greatest hope that the movement in Wisconsin will be our shining star that will ignite the American people towards a new movement which says loud and clear to President Obama: No you won't? Well guess what: Yes We Can.
Thanks as always,
Ms. B.
