So Scooter Walker goes to the Wisconsin Capital and with his first attempt at creating a budget (which he thinks will be an easily passable since, after all, who would expect a minority to actually stand up for some principle and draw attention to his actions), he draws national attention to his attempt to kill off the public employees unions.
But who is Scott Walker? What do people actually know about him?
Well, below the fold, some common and some uncommonly known things...
Walker was born in Colorado. (True)
Walker’s dad is a Baptist Minister and when he was young (pre-college) he grew up in Delevan Wisconsin. (True)
Walker never listed to his father’s sermons, especially if it dealt with caring for the poor, the elderly or the disenfranchised. (Probably true, you don’t do what he’s doing and have any real Christian values – defined as following the TEACHINGS of Christ, not the man made doctrine of organized religion but even that would be pushing it.)
Walker almost ALWAYS wears a blue shirt, especially if he is going to be on television. (I think it’s true - Check it out)
Walker never finished college; therefore he never took that 4th year course in budgeting. (True, as for the class - well, that’s what I am betting on)
Walker married Tonette, women 11 years older than him. He was 25, she was 36. (Leave it there but think what you want.)
Walker was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1993 (True.)
As a Republican elected to a state political office, he was treated to private seminars, classes and mentoring by private right wing causes. (Probably true – you think those private high funded right wing groups aren’t teaching media relations, spin, lying and keeping straight face and other “how-to’s - see Koch Brother activities and groups they support).
Walker goes to great length to hid and cover the growing bald spot at the back of his head. (True, check out some photos when you can see the various spot and how it “changes”; but he could just be using spray on hair. They probably cover that in the media relations classes at those secret Koch supported meetings.)
After winning the County Executive Office in Milwaukee, the right-wing political powers in Washington (aka, Rove, Scooter Libby and the White House crew) took great pride in the accomplishment of putting a Republican zealot in office and flew him to a private meet and greet at the White House. (True, not widely known and all documentation has been shredded.)
Walker’s first chief of staff was a “friend” of Scooter Libby. (So I’ve been told.)
Walker kept a computer in his office suite not connected to the county network and not subject to any open records request. (True)
The computer was tied into the Rove secret computer network at the NRC. (That is something I always believed; you think they were just printing out mailing labels for fund raisers?)
During one of the first runs for County Executive (maybe the first), Walker received sizable donations from Bears Stearns (I think he returned the funds when it was discovered Bears Stearns did business with the County through the County bonding process, but come-on, you think he DIDN'T know that when he took the cash.)
This is Walkers first attempt at killing unions. History shows he does not learn (probably one of the reasons he never finished college), so expect a repeat if he doesn't get his way.
Plus - this is just the first assault to middle class and the unions that represent the voice of the workers. Koch and the like - they only want their own voices heard, not the voices of what they consider little people. And they have a long, long history of investing in Scooter Walker. They EXPECT a return on their investments.
