Earlier this morning, Congressman Michele Bachmann (R-Teahadistan) told CNN that she's thinking about running for President in 2012 and will decide by early summer.
Please, please, please, say yes:
Whether or not she gets in the race, here's what Bachmann says she's looking for in a candidate:
I think that it’s important that people keep in mind with all of the issues that we have in front of us that we need a nominee who really understands the times that we live in, who knows what to do in response to that, and who has the political courage to do what has to be done.
Very tough decisions we’ve made, and I think our nominee needs to be willing to be a one-term president if that’s necessary in order to get the job done, because we have to get back on a good financial footing, and we have to get gasoline prices back down to, I hope, below $2 a gallon.
So...she's looking for a candidate with the courage to tell voters that we can not only get gas prices below $2 a gallon, but that we can also get back on firm financial footing by extending the Bush tax cuts forever and repealing the Medicare cost-savings in health care reform.
Yeah, that takes some courage, all right. Almost as much courage as it takes to run for class president and promise free candy for everybody. Let's just hope she thinks she has what it takes.
