This discussion of how we got to where we are - and exactly what the GOP is doing nation side to gradually destroy our democratic process bit by bit under the excuse of responding to a "Crisis".
The right-wing would have you believe that it was "Poor people who had no business trying to buy a home" that cause the Wall Street Crisis. Let me just call that what it is - BULL CRAP. People can't buy homes unless somebody tells them "You Are Approved!" The mortgage industry created a set of hand-grenade loans that was design to explode, and they got away with it by shifting the risk and explosion off their own books and into derivatives being traded on Wall Street. Those loans were designed not for the poor, but for House Flippers who were trying to cash in on the overheated Housing Market which was being driven by Wall Street speculators.
Buy a House then sell it in a few months and pocket a huge profit. That was the name of the game, and we all knew it - there were even Reality Shows about it.
This situation was not created by the Community Reinvestment Act which was passed in 1977. It was not caused by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac who were prohibited by Federal Regulation from offering loans to people who couldn't pay them back.
This was a Robbery. First they stole the equity from the American Homeowner, now they're coming after the Pension, Health Care and rights of the American Worker.
As Rachel Says, it's not about the Budget... this is a massive power grab - they're taking away Worker Rights in Wisconsin and Ohio. In Michigan they're taking away the elected representatives and allowing the governor to replace them with Private Contractors.

If she had the courage to actually watch the show she would have seen that this issue didn't come up. If she had bother to actually read the ABC report that Andrew Brietbart's Big Government Links to she would have found this:
"The sad fact is that documentary/verite theatrical films and the talented people who work on them are too often treated as second-class filmmakers, when they are among the most creative, talented and hardworking, and often produce our finest films," said Emanuel.
"Nothing would make Michael happier than for documentary filmmaking to get its due respect, and to have unions pursue the documentary film crews with the same energy they give to bringing feature crews into their membership and making it a viable option for them," he said.
"This is a Writer's Guild, Screen Actors Guild and Directors Guild film, as all of Michael's films are. He is a proud, dues-paying member of all three of these unions," said Emanuel.
Moore simply went after the best most experienced people for documentaries, and his argument is that the Union had ignored them. My uncle built sets in Hollywood, and one of my best friends is a set painter - both are with IATSE - but if there's one thing you don't need on a documentary, it's people to build sets. The article doesn't say how many workers we're talking about, but logic says it can't be very many.
This is how they respond to the loss of Democracy in this nation - with a petty - oh look who once hired somebody who wasn't in a Union. Petty. Junior High Juvenality.
If Brietbart and Palin think this tactic while put a stop to the workers movement coming out of Wisconsin, Ohio and now Michigan - and the People's Party - they are sorely, sadly mistaken.
They gotten away with robbery again and again and again..
No more.
