"Let's Write A Story" is a fun, collaborative writing series where comments create stories.
The "Story Starter" is posted below. Each commenter adds a comment in the form of description, dialog and other elements to move the story forward. The idea is to write a complete story (however imperfect it might be) in one diary.
To comment in this diary instead of contribute to the story, simply go to your browser's EDIT option on the menu bar and choose FIND. Then type in ##, which will be where non-story building comments begin.
Let's have fun!
Most of these excerpts will come from my numerous pages of my free writing exercises. I'm not developing or planning to develop any of these into a screenplay. Therefore, they will vary in their degree of "polish". I've only cleaned these up slightly from their original free writing format - hopefully enough to make them marginally less embarrassing to me.
THIS WEEK'S STORY STARTER
Their eyes locked and not a word was spoken between them as they each tried to anticipate and answer the others' yet unspoken words. The clamor, the activity, the clanking of dishes, and the mumbling of patrons, the little ding-a-ling of the bell on the door to the diner - none of these things seemed to interrupt their concentration or weaken the intensity between them.
One, in a camel hair coat, light and serious against his near-jet black hair and porcelain skin, looked tired but determined.
The other, with a non-chalant confidence only money could buy, sat silently in a navy suit; his blond hair appearing contrived against his natural olive complexion.
How odd they looked situated there silent, with only two coffee cups between them - untouched - and ordered obviously only to buy themselves a place to sit.
Let's have some fun!
