Yep, I threw it away.
I was born in Scotland and grew up in Canada. I spent 20 years in the US. At first I was a student....F1 visa. After 6 years I had a J1 visa (exchange visitor) I was a scientist on exchange. Then I briefly had a TN visa (trade nafta). Then I had an H1B visa. I rode that bull for 6 years.
Then I finally got my green card after I proved I did not carry disease.
Last Thursday, I gave up my green card.
They tried to talk me out of it, but I was firm.
I do not want to be an American.
I am Scottish, I am Canadian! They stand for what I believe in.
Goodbye green card, hopefully it will land upon someone that needs it.
Goodbye.
