Anti-war protest in St. Paul sponsored by the Iraq Peace Coalition: I had only snapped a few pics of the gathering crowd before Coleen Rowley put a pot in my hand. Asking me to cook would normally be wise,I am rather good at it, but this was for the purpose of making noise in the streets,as advised by the late great Molly Ivins.
We gathered at the Martin Luther King Community Center
quite a few dogs marched with us today, but this was the cutest!
Coleen was one of several speakers that got us warmed up for the march
(One of these days I will remember a notebooks so I can get the names of all the speakers, readers feel free to make up for my laziness!)
one of my favorite signs
the march starts, it was interesting trying to keep the beat with the real drummers on my pot!
down University Ave
and before long we were at the Capitol
a long view of the crowd, we had more speakers, several with personal experience of the damage our wars have done, and one reminding us of Eisenhower's words about the military industrial complex
and I could not resist a couple more shots of the Radical Roosters!
