The question has been raised if we should bother to do a meet and greet locally. For those of us that are still a bit too scared to walk in a protest march or picket our local representative body. This would be a way for the keyboard activists to get involved. It's not all about walking and shouting (though THAT definitely is needed) there is also a need for folks to quietly state where there position is to allow others to come out and do so as well. The silent majority speaking, that is to say, we need to stand together and be willing to state what we believe the values we want out of government should be, to be by the people and for the people, be they wealthy or poor, religious or not. It's kind of simple, yet it has been corrupted by people who are scared and have lost their moral and ethical compass.
Consider this an open thread....
The meet and greet of our fellow BAK groupies should be a fun affair. A pot luck where we can gather and discuss, meet, debate and exchange ideas and numbers. I would suggest that we bring a recall Jan Brewer petition along to see if we can add a few signatures to her eventual demise.
I'll put in a poll down below to list possible meeting locations and then we can discuss possible dates.... and we can add to the discussion by what amenities we need to ensure are in place before making a reservation on a date, i.e. walking paths? playing fields? dog park? bathrooms and grills and a ramada are a given I suppose (can't imagine anyone wanting to haul a grill out) but if there's anything else that needs to be considered? How many of us have small ones? (i.e. should we get a locale that has a playground?) Teenagers (frisbee locations or bike paths)? Do we go close to the University to take in the "ambiance"? Diet restrictions? Again, we can be accommodating if we simply know up front what the challenges are.
Also, other topics such as the defeat of the latest batch of discriminatory crap is well within order too....
so without further ado....
