Welcome to the continuing "pre-season" of the New York Times Link Club, designed to let people who can't afford online subscriptions continue to enjoy the New York Times. The paywall is not yet in effect (except for Canadians), so this is mostly a test (except for Canadians. Help us out, Canadians! Are these links working for you?)
We will try to link to the stories we want to see available to people here, as well as taking requests. Before long, we should be able to keep people from needing to go over their quota. (And, if you can pay and want to pay for a NYT sub -- please do go ahead and pay!)
The current plan is to start with Columnist Links, Blog Links (which may eventually go into a box just under the doodle, because they should be "evergreens" and it's not even clear whether they count towards the "quota"), top news and breaking news updates in the intro. Then breaking news and updates can be put under the doodle as they age. (Or we'll do something else -- we're making it up as we go along here!)
