A previous report came out that there is inadequate heat and hot water and complaints went up this year. This report actually flew under the radar. At a time when we are witnessing gas prices climb and programs for heating decline. The issue continues to climb the charts with more and more people are being left without decent heating and hot water. The amount of people who filed complaints on behalf of their landlords hit an all-time high. Programs are being slashed for people that are in need of heat and hot water and can't afford it. But the only country that doesn't ignore the poor and middle class in America is Venezuela. Venezuela has been providing the Bronx with heat and hot water. The majority of people who receive this help are the people our own country continues to ignore. The poor and middle class in America continue to have to deal with inadequate heat or hot water. This issue can no longer fly under the radar.
The politicians are not responding to the needs of the people. Landlords are not facing strict consequences when they do not provide both heat or hot water to their residents. The laws most change because the current system in place is not working. A news report came out that more residents filed heat and hot water complaints than any other previous year. The report was briefly mentioned by one of the main stream news media, but it was only for a brief moment. The corporate media reported the issue but attempted to hide the truth. It almost flew under the radar but because of places like Daily Kos and other blogs on the web. It's going to be a hot topic in America and people in America are going to start warming up.
Main Stream reported the issue but thought it would fly under the radar like incidents in Michigan or Wisconsin. Well they were wrong and we did take notice and we are going to make it a hot topic.
Landlords most be held accountable for there actions and new laws should be introduced to deal with this on going issue. Please contact all your state representatives and demand that new laws should be introduced to protect residents from No Heat or Hot Water. Something has to be done with the lack of accountability that landlords continue to ignore the needs of many people who are left without heat or hot water. The need for heat and hot water should be included into the constitution. Americans shouldn't be left without any heat or hot water!
