How many people should attend a national rally in Washington D. C. to avoid it being labeled as a total flop? I mean seriously, is there some agency that can write citations for rallies that are a total disaster and band them from wasting everyone's time in the future?
What if the group held rallies in 2009 and 2010 which drew tens of thousands according to legitimate networks and a katrillion according to Fox news?
What if that same group held a rally today and only 200 people came and many of them were the speakers and media? Would you try to "make excuses" like TheHill.com did here?
"Numbering no more than a couple hundred people, the rally paled in comparison to the masses of Tea Party activists that have jammed the Capitol grounds and the National Mall in the past. Cold and wet conditions might have dampened the turnout. At its outset, it seemed as if there were nearly as many reporters and camera crews as activists." http://thehill.com/...
Or, maybe you would prefer an intellectual spin like Politico always does to try to slide this colossal failure on the back of another one of their tea party promotions:
"Tea party regulars Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Steve King (R-Iowa) encouraged the crowd of roughly 200 to not back down on the spending fight. “We can’t afford anything less than a fight on these important issues,” Bachmann said."

Actually, probably the best way to hide this total embarrassment is to use the Fox model. Just write a supportive article, pretend a katrillion folks were there, and then just put all of the speakers on Hannity later tonight. Here's a sample of their tea party promoting reporting:
"Members of the Tea Party Patriots gathered on Capitol Hill Thursday at a rally called "a Continuing Revolution," to advocate further spending cuts as Congress debates a budget while the threat of a government shutdown looms."

Members? How many "members" people?
Ahhh, that's so Fox-like.
Yup, regardless of how much they try to keep them relevant, the Tea Party is truly fading away.
