HAPPY FRIDAY, Cranky Users! And happy April Fools' Day! Today's diary is the small celebration I promised to host when I got my mojo back! Just look at those five big fat shiny bars of beautiful mojo, and the glistening TU badge! Look how it makes my little-girl grandma smile! Apparently, ct was finally able to track down the bug that was making people who had joined last summer appear to have been here less than 90 days. (Or maybe they just became tired of hearing from the several kind people agitating on my behalf, all of whom I thank profusely, and summarily gave me all the mojo they had lying around the lab.)
Right now, it doesn't matter! It's Friday afternoon and we're having a Cranky mojo party! Aided by the inimitable aoeu, I've collected up a delightful crank gallery, and I'd like to share it with you below the squiggle. But first, some music! I realize that Bob Marley seems to be singing about a "punky Reggae party," but I assure you, that's only because in his lifetime, the Cranky mojo party had not yet been invented. Otherwise, this would totally be our song.
Thanks for joining us, Cranky Users! I know not all of you will be in a festive mood, so please use the comments to mention your various dissatisfactions. And if your mojo is still broken, let us hear about it! (As of this morning,
ct's latest diary reported some fixes, including of the
link and other formatting buttons and of the arrow-key navigation issue, and WE reported the bug report button was missing. Do you have a comment about any of this? Or are you looking for the bug report link, which is in the box below?)
On the other hand, if you've brought refreshments, please tell us what they are -- we hope you've brought enough to share! Cranky Users love some good refreshments!
WHERE TO TURN: LINKS
☀ For more stuff sort of like this, the Cranky Users group.
☀ For lots of official detail about the site and its workings, the DK4 FAQ (frequently-asked questions). The main Daily Kos FAQ is still here.
☀ To report something not working to the dev team, the bug report form. A bug report will not be directly responded to, but will be kept on file by the development team until the issue is resolved or otherwise closed.
☀ To get immediate response for technical help or urgent site problems, the contact form (be sure to select the tech support radio button). A tech support request will get prompt response, but does not get added to the bug report database. If you use it to report a known bug, you'll be told it's a known bug, and that's it.
☀ For immediate catharsis, complain in a Cranky Users thread. These threads are regularly scanned by kos and developers, but it's not a guaranteed way to bring an issue to the attention of these folks. But sometimes you just need some sympathy from other cranky people! (And sometimes, other cranky people have advice that can help you.)
Our thanks to kos, the development team, and the Dkosopedia contributors for their vigorous efforts to deliver a site that works well and to help us know how to work it!
