Remember when you didn't have to start every April 1st diary with "No, this is not a joke"? Well, in Wisconsin, every day is April 1st lately. Maybe Bill Murray can make a sequel to Groundhog Day titled April Fools Day.
I generally avoid all news about the half-termer from Alaska, but the headline on MSNBC.com did capture my attention.
Read it here. If it's a joke, then MSNBC and a lot of other news outlets have been suckered in.
The former Alaska governor tweeted Friday, "Wisconsin, please remember to vote for Justice Prosser on April 5."
Prosser's campaign says it didn't seek her endorsement but welcomes broad support. Kloppenburg's campaign declined to comment.
Wait a second. Prosser welcomes support from broads? How dare he refer to Palin as a broad...oh, wait.
Sorry. I'm so accustomed to Prosser referring to women as "bitches" he "will destroy" that I got carried away.
I bet Prosser would welcome broad support. At this point he has Palin, Scott Walker, The Fitzgeralds, the Koch brothers, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, and the Tea Party. Quite the coalition.
The damage control team for the Prosser campaign must be scrambling right about now, deciding which is worse: Honorary Campaign co-Chairman Pat Lucey (a former Democratic Wisconsin Governor) withdrawing his endorsement of Prosser, or former half-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin giving Prosser her endorsement.
Palin is not will regarded among independents and moderate Republicans in Wisconsin. This is a fairly well-educated state. "Dumb" doesn't play well here.
If there were any doubts about Prosser's extremist right-wing agenda, Palin pretty much answered those doubts by tweeting her support. I'm guessing that tweet swayed a few thousand more votes to Joanne Kloppenburg.
