DaNang65's quilt, finished last night at about 11:57pm
I am so relieved to report that DaNang65's quilt is done.
Things have fallen behind a bit while I was healing from surgery. There were some things I just could not do -- and this prevented other things from getting done. I could not get down on the floor and baste a quilt!

But now this is done -- and I am very pleased with the result. Next: basting Lt. Choi's quilt. It is almost done, too.
"It is finished," surely three of the finest words in the English language.

I, like most quilters, have a number of unfinished projects hanging around, though. It is sort of a sticky subject, one that might open some feelings of guilt. Not that it should, though. It is quite possible that some things are not meant to be finished.
What do I mean by that?
My quilt guild had a fascinating guest lecturer at our quilt show three years ago -- Gerald Roy, dean of American quilt appraisal . His lecture was about the unfinished tops, all antiques, that he and his partner had collected over the years. And he theorized that they were a little outside the norm, perhaps a bit too daring, and had thus been set aside. Unfinished, they never got loved to death or worn out -- and so they survived to this day. Soooooo...maybe your unfinished masterpiece will live through the ages because it never made it to your relative's bed.
It's a good rationalization -- but isn't it better to see your baby all complete?
Today's subject: How do you motivate yourself to finish your projects? And can this guild be any help with that?

I have found someone local who is willing to be Treasurer to the Community Quilt Project. We now can call a meeting -- and I am checking to see if the church in my neighborhood will be the venue. We are that much closer to getting the whole project of the ground!
