The Congressional Budget Office has released a study of Chairman Ryan's proposal: http://www.cbo.gov/...
I am a big fan of this, I'll tell you why after the jump...
To be honest, I don't care much for most of Ryan's proposals, but what I DO like is that at least they are proposals.
*THE DISCUSSION HAS SHIFTED TO POLICY & THAT IS CONVERSATION DEMOCRATS CAN WIN*
We've seen the more unsavory elements of the GOP on display for past couple years but at the moment (perhaps this very brief moment) they've been sidelined. When the "grown ups" are talking their fancy-pants elitist talk about the finer points of a budget negotiation that Mickey Mouse fringe is marginalized.
Gingrich, Pawlenty, Palin, and company now have microphones shoved in their face asking if they agree or disagree with the Ryan plan. No birth certificates, no paranoid conspiracies.
Combine that with today's press release that Mr. Beck is leaving the scene (at least temporarily, that hysterical drama queen will probably show up and start broadcasting in the Middle East somewhere since he is genuinely convinced he is a prophet) and I think things are looking a bit better- at least for now.
No matter how this all goes down, it is very refreshing to hear opponents noshing largely on policy.
