It's official: next week, House Republicans will be asked to walk the plank and vote for Paul Ryan's 2012 budget plan, including it's proposal to eliminate Medicare and replace it with vouchers. The Hill:
The House Republican 2012 budget resolution that would cut $5.8 trillion over 10 years was reported out of the Budget Committee on Wednesday night after a day-long markup. It now heads to the House floor for a vote set for next week.
Democrats offered a number of amendments to the proposal, all but two of which were rejected. Among the amendments rejected by Republicans: language that would have guaranteed Social Security won't be privatized as the GOP is now proposing to do with Medicare.
