The nauseating antics of the Repuglicans and Tea Party folks is really getting depressing. It's not like we were doing so great during the Bush years, but why, oh why, did we not pay for our conflicts/wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Why didn't this alarm these patriotic citizens at that time? And why didn't it alarm all of our representatives in Congress?
It seems everyone had their heads buried in the desert sands. Cheney, "the deficits don't matter" guy wasn't concerned. And certainly Bush didn't care. He cut taxes for the wealthy while an invasion was launched off-budget.
I believe it's time to make it right and make it retro-active. It's time to enact a "war tax" on the wealthy.
Certainly, the conservatives would want to do the right thing, in fact, it would be downright patriotic to have a tax surcharge to help us out of our deficit.
