It's been a while since I did a music diary... yeah, my Jam Edition was related, but...
I've been thinking about Covers recently, thanks to some truly gorgeous ones gracing my ears. For what I hope is your listening pleasure as well as mine, follow below the curliqueue thingie :-)
The Book Of Love - Original by The Magnetic Fields, covered by Peter Gabriel. There are many studio versions on Youtube, but this is the only live version I could find.
Falling Slowly -Original by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, covered by No Comment. First time I heard this was at Jam, and if there'd been a recording of that version I'd share it here. In lieu of that is this, the one I now own courtesy of iTunes.
Time After Time - Original by Cyndi Lauper, covered here by Quietdrive. I adore the original, but this cover IMHO does it justice.
Carry On Wayward Son - Original by Kansas, covered here by Stryper. They released a cover album two months ago, and it's really good.
Any good covers (or other good music) cross your earbuds lately? Do share!!

A bunch of great stuff in the comments to my "running government like a business" essay. It was hard to pick just a few:
Bush Bites has a succinct comparison.
StratCat asks what kind of business we're supposed to run government like.
If we're going to be harvesting the organs of old people, Meteor Blades has an offer.
