The 2012 presidential race is wide open in terms of the GOP nomination contest. It seems every serious contender currently showing interest has at least one fatal flaw that makes him or her unlikely to unseat President Obama.
If only, a candidate came forward with a rock-solid reputation and track record appealing to the core values (admitted to or not) of the GOP base..
- hard headed, inflexible, stubborn ruler
- absolutely LOVES him some capital punishment!
- clearly not a fan of diversity! Especially not fond of subversive liberals!
- deferential to moneyed interests/the ruling class!
The greatest irony of Good Friday, here in the year 2011 in America, is that if Pontius Pilate travelled through time to the present, changed his name, and announced a run for president, he'd probably be a shoo-in for the GOP nod, be the darling of Fox News and the right wing blogosphere, and get the overwhelming majority of the self-identified Christian vote.
Just saying...
