I wrote a diary yesterday about AB 52, the bill that would give California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones the right to regulate the increase in health insurance premiums (as he currently can with auto and homeowner's insurance.) I tried to make calls then but couldn't get through. I decided to make the calls this morning, when "we don't know how he or she will vote" is an even lamer excuse. I've been able to eliminate five names of Democrats from the undecided list, which means that there are eight left who have not promised not to block this common-sense reform. So we need to call them, now. As I publish this, we have about 100 minutes to go. Eight calls each. Californians only, please. Check my diary from yesterday, at the link above, for more background info. Go, go, go!
Assembly members Ammiano, Bonilla, Lowenthal, Perez, and Williams are on our side!
The uncommitted eight:
Bill Monning, Chair (D) -- (916) 319-2027
Toni Atkins (D) -- (916) 319-2076
Mike Eng (D) -- (916) 319-2049
Richard Gordon (D) -- (916) 319-2021
Mary Hayashi (D) -- (916) 319-2018
Roger Hernandez (D) -- (916) 319-2057
Holly Mitchell (D) -- (916) 319-2047
Richard Pan (D) -- (916) 319-2005
I promised them that they were about to get a slew of calls. Don't make me out to be a liar!
CALL NOW!!!

Atkins, Eng, and Gordon are reported by commenters as supporting.
I'll be really surprised if Pan doesn't do so also.

Dave Jones posts on Facebook that they need 10 votes in the committee. Eight Democrats have already voted yes -- I don't know whether these are the same eight we've counted -- and five others can still add their names. He does not seem to be bothered by this at this point.

Forgot to put the update here. It passed the committee with all Dems voting yes except for Pan.
