While many are waiting to get the partisan fight going over who should get credit for the overdue demise of Osama bin Laden, we say let's get it on now. Early commentary appears to be spinning the angle of "the continuity of Bush's efforts" played a role in the event. We disagree vehemently as this is merely an attempt to co-op the President's achievement. The fact is, the GOP has just lost the 2012 election and they know it. The death of bin Laden at the direction of this President hurts the Republicans like hell and we know that just as well.
Sure, there’s going to be many congratulations forthcoming for the cameras and fodder for the cable crap dealers, but when you get to the bottom line, no Republican in their right mind will want to campaign against Barack Obama, going forward. Their chances for prematurely taking the keys to the White House from the Democrats died with the bullet that crashed through Osama’s skull.
Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum and John Bolton will all be reassessing their options this morning. This cast of political misfits were marginal choices, at best, from the very start, but now they appear to be nothing more than a waste of a campaign contribution.
Considering how things have shaken out, Barack Obama will require far less money to be re-elected than previously anticipated. He need only remind the nation that unemployment is ticking down, the stock market has been holding firm, inflation could be worse and most importantly, it was his crew that busted the cap in bin Laden’s ass. If the troops have begun to draw down in Afghanistan as per the plan, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave will be Barack Obama’s address for another four years.
Who knew what the President was referring to when he told the media the nation needs to be focused on more serious things than the silliness of the “birther” controversy. While Donald Trump was breaking his arm patting himself on the back for accomplishing something big, something nobody else could do, something that he was oh-so proud of, the President was coolly, calmly and quietly accomplishing something nobody else could do as well - sending Osama bin Laden to his maker.
Without the braggadocio bloviating, President Obama clearly has mastered the art of kicking his opponent’s ass. We spend a lot of time and resources here at RetroVision Media's "Issues Under Fire" exposing Republicans for the assholes they are. Given the ammunition we have to work with, it is the rare occasion when we fail to achieve that goal. But President Obama’s tactics are a bit more stealthier.
It is evident now that the President conserves energy in a fight, by allowing the Republicans to make assholes out of themselves. This is classic rope-a-dope and let them choke on their own words stuff. The president’s method saves time, effort, money and the dignity of the presidency. Never does he stoop to the level of local loudmouths like Donald “Chump” Trump, blatant idiots like Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann and nor should he. Whatever you think about this President, it can not be denied, that he always holds his head high and America even higher.
