I just love Margaritas and it's been my drink of choice for sometime now. This is the recipe that i make at home:
1. I start with Tequila.
Although El Jimador has become available in my area, I have gone back to jose cuervo gold due to the hang overs from the El Jimador.
2. splash of orange liqueur.
I buy Patron brand.
3. splash of Triple sec.
I buy the cheep shit, and I've been known to skip this ingredient out of laziness.
4. splash of sweet sour mix.
If its there, i add it. Not a big deal if you run out of this stuff.
5. top off drink with grapefruit juice.
I buy simply grapefruit juice brand. It really is worth it to buy this stuff.
If you are running low on the simply grapefruit, (this seems to always happen to me) you can mix in some orange juice. orange juice also works good in this recipe for folks who don't care for the flavor of grapefruit.
I don't take any time dicking around with slicing lime wedges, or messing around with salt. The blender is also dusty.
If you are looking for a really good Tequila for sipping, and savoring warm in the glass, i recommend this stuff.
How do you make yours?
