Ok. Let the feeding frenzy be done. I happen to agree with one Kossack who had the courage to write a diary stating that they 'did not care about what the Republicans' have to say.
Why should I? All that we do, whenever we write a diary about Trump, or Palin, or now, OBL, is to enable our own party and our nation, to step away from the issues at hand. That means, when you do that a diary or writer here, guess what?
You are simply avoiding the issues that we must deal with, and are in fact aiding and abetting and enabling the bullshit MSM, and putting off the important issues we should be discussing. Good luck with that, but I for one, will not waste a moment of my time in those circles of the class wars, and to at least have the courage to return this site back to a 'reality based community.'
What is the number one issue in our nation?
'Where are the jobs?' Yes, OMG, it's still the economy. And we still do not have any accountability in our own party for that.
The older I get, the more I realize that the single most valuable commodity that we have as human beings, is 'our time,' and how we use that time.
One of my most favorite lyrics, is from Bonnie Raitt's great song: The Nick of Time. In it she says:
'Time get's mighty precious, when there is less of it to waste.'
So I for one, make a daily effort to be cognizant, and mindful of how I, for one am spending the most precious thing I have left, the most valuable thing I have left: My time, and how I choose to use that time.
Spending our time on the Republicans or social issues, or class wars, is a total waste of time. Get over it.
How do you we move forward as human beings, as Democrats: That is very simple: We do what any common sense reality based person does:
1. We prioritize
2. We set realistic goals
3. We pay more attention to our own party, and our own side of the street
4. We hold our Democratic leaders accountable
5. We stop enabling the Republican party (which is a fucking joke) and we focus on the issues again, and we focus upon moving our own party agenda forward.
6. We demand that our own party day in and day out, set up the narrative, and then sticks with that narrative. We have the courage to make our own 'talking points' and goals and we stick by them.
7. We do not spend wasted time on bullshit social issues. Because in the end, guess what? We are getting nothing done, and you know that is the truth.
There are two truthful instances today that came up in the news in the last few days: A great Democratic spokes person, was talking about how the Republicans are now being forced (at town meetings and elsewhere) to drink what he called the 'Jones Town Kool aide' because no one is buying their bullshit, to cut Medicare and Social Security and the crappy and now dying Paul Rand budget.
The other issue that I felt was very important was the recent morphing of what I would now call the 'Gang of One' that fucking fake Bluest of all Blue Dogs, Kent Conrad. First it was the Cat Food Commission, then it became the other bullshit morphing: the Gang of Six, and now, it has gotten down to this last ass hat, Conrad. Guess what? None of it is working for our party, none of it, and our own party knows it.
That tells me this: The Democratic Party is right on target. But, the question remains the same. Why are we wasting so much time when there is no time to waste?
One of the truest and great things that President Clinton ever said was this:
'Democrats win when they think.'
But it's not just enough to think, because without action and deeds, and demanding real leadership, none of that means anything.
This is why I believe, and have always believed in my own party, the Democratic Party. Our strongest point has been true dissent in our own party, and it's leaders.
That is the only thing that really matters in the end, is to keep that dissent strong, upfront and alive.
This is how, we as a party, move our nation forward, not by writing bullshit diaries about the Republicans. Or Kent Conrad, who is as out of touch as any other Republican is.
That our nation has become a moral cesspool is undeniable. How and why we got here, no longer matters. Blame is not the answer, nor is spending any more wasted time on that, a matter of importance.
Our future, lays in the future of our own party, and it's leaders. Not in writing diaries about the bullshit Republicans, or social issues, that are nothing more than the same crappy 'decoys' that keep us from moving forward.
So let me ask you this, as a matter of this reality based community:
What are your most important issues for this government and for President Obama and our party?
Will you commit to stop writing bullshit diaries about the Republicans and focus upon goals that can move our nation forward?
So, let's focus. Let us set goals. Let us have the courage to set real priorities. Is that so 'out of the box' that we cannot do that again? Sometimes, it takes great Democrats to lead the pack, and to set the leadership goals clear and concise and you know what? That is what I love about my own party.
How about you?
The 'urgency of now' is now people. Where do you want to go? How are you willing to focus your time and energy, because we are running out of time. Can we as Democrats, be brave enough to set the narrative for our party and our President?
Don't you think that is way past time? Because I do.
Thanks as always for letting me share my thoughts.
