Hello, friendly friends.
This is just a headsup for those heading out to make groceries this week: the 19th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive is this Saturday, May 14th.
It's really simple: if you put out a bag or box on non-perishable foods by you mailbox on Saturday, your friendly postal carrier will pick it up and deliver it to your local food bank or feeding center. It's just that easy.
So, while you're at the grocery store this week, consider getting a few extra cans of this or boxes of that and setting it out on Saturday.
Food banks are stretched to the limit right now, and with the weather-related crises in the South and West, it's not going to get better very quickly.
Please, if you can, spare a little for those with less.
And thank your postal carrier for this fine effort.
PS I'll be on this more in the coming days, so don't think you've heard the last of me on this issue.
Yr boy,
CV
