The Daily Bucket is a place to catch your casual observations of the natural world and turn them into a valuable resource. Whether it's the first flowers of spring or that odd bug in your basement, don't be afraid to toss your thoughts into the bucket. Check here for a more complete description.
Sorry I'm so late, today, life intervenes at times.
Meanwhile, when I got home, I noticed that I had a Brown-Headed Cowbird female in my bird fountain. This is bad news for the whole neighborhood because they are a nest parasite. This one in my own yard, no less. It does seem, however, that it is late getting here relative to when the other birds around here appear to have started nesting, so perhaps there is no harm done. The only problem is if any of the other birds try to raise a second clutch.
So, what is going on in your neighborhood, and where is that?
