Don't get me wrong-- I loves me some Joe Biden, and will be more than happy if he's the running mate in 2012. I even got matching Salty & Pepa shakers from Ebay when he was announced. Even Joe Biden thinks it will be... Joe Biden.
There's just one hint that the door is open to another running mate, though. Even in Delaware Biden's name isn't showing up on bumper stickers.
But let's just say you could pick your fantasy ticket for 2012, that you could pick the kind of Vice President who could carry the banner for the Democrats in 2016...and let's face it, Joe isn't that guy.
Who could electorally help Obama win a key state in 2012? Or step into Obama's shoes in 2016?
More just-for-fun speculation after the fold...
Of course last August rumors were swirling about a Hillary Clinton Veep position, but those were quickly quelled.
Alan Steinberg argues it will be Kay Hagan, given the importance of North Carolina in the 2012 Presidential race.
The Wall Street Journal thinks it should be Mitt Romney, given his stand on health care reform.
So-- is Joe still the perfect Vice-Presidential match for 2012? Or would someone else make it onto your fantasy ticket-- and why?
