Last April 24, during a panel discussion on CBS’ Face the Nation, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D) called for a Grand Jury investigation and for the Attorney General to press criminal charges if necessary to curb the price manipulation of gasoline prices. The demand for gasoline continues to drop because most working class Americans, finding themselves unable to afford gas prices, are cutting back, even though they need gas to get to work.
Yet gas prices only continue to rise and we are given excuse after excuse as to why: civil unrest in the Middle East, the value of the U.S. dollar falling, flooding along the Mississipi River. But are these really valid justifications? It seems that no matter what event unfolds around in the world, it is used as a justification for prices not dropping at the pump.
For all it's worth, I just created a Change.org petition entitled "Tell U.S. Attorney General: enough "monitoring" high gas prices ... launch Grand Jury investigation!", because I'm just fed up with the prices (who isn't right?!)

Here's more of what I've been writing on what's going on with the gas prices and "why" they're so high.
What do you think? Would a Grand Jury investigation do any good or no?
