I know it's incredibly early, but curiosity has struck me. Who would you like to see run for POTUS on the Dem ticket in 2016?
Biden would have the VP experience of (hopefully) 8 years behind him, but is saddled with the "gaffe" meme, and, frankly, a bit of a personality problem with voters... at least in my opinion. Clinton has, if I recall, already ruled out another run. I just don't see Gore or Kerry taking another shot at it, and the American voter tends to hate "losers."
How about the traditional stable for candidates... the governors mansion? I've heard a little buzz about Brian Schweitzer out of Montana... but not much. Andrew Cuomo in New York? Maybe Deval Patrick out of Massachusetts, but then again, is America ready for a black guy raised by a single mother who lived in Chicago?
Senators? Harry Reid? Dick Durbin? Chuck Schumer? All three have compromised on some pretty hefty Dem positions, but possibly that can all be atoned for by 2016. Then again, maybe the base will just hold their nose regardless. I like Patty Murray, the current Dem Caucus Secretary. She wasn't afraid to hold Bush's feet to the fire over Iraq and Afghanistan, back when that was not the most popular position.
I'm sure there is a plethora of talent I'm missing. At least I hope so. Pick one out of my list or name another in the comments... but either way, I'm interested to hear what you have to say.
