No Nukes - Massive anti-nuclear demos are scheduled to take place in Japan on June 11. Following the disaster in Fukushima, Germany adopted a plan to phase out nuclear power by 2022. What can we do in the U.S.? Local Politics - The Washington Peace Center looks forward to attending a
Statehood for DC Teach In In at the Capitol on Thursday, June 9. Sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union of the Nation's Capital, the purpose is to encourage Congress to use its power to make DC the 51st state. "The people of Washington want the same rights as all other American citizens; equal representation in Congress, and local self-government." On Friday, we will join Save Our Safety Net at the Wilson Building to tell the Council members, "the budget is OK; let the restorations stay." Please join us for the
