*Vaccines do not cause autism*
Let's get that out of the way.
Here's hoping I don't get the hyperventilating in the comments but I am mentally prepared for it on this topic.
This is just news and people should be able to discern for themselves. Yes this needs more peer review. No people shouldn't be mocked for airing this information.
I certainly hope most people will go and get their kids vaccinated, perhaps stagger them if you're still worried about too much toxification in one shot. That's what we did with our child.
But as to chemicals, you are more than welcome to freak out in my opinion. Throw them away and replace them with more natural cleansers (and push for removal of chemicals everywhere, in food, water, etc.). Kids shouldn't be exposed to them for an array of reasons. This is just another one. The most important takeaway here should be: if you're pregnant, TAKE YOUR PRENATAL VITAMINS! Here's why:
Autism and environmental health experts called for greater scrutiny of chemicals found in the environment, which could potentially lead to autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders, in a conference call Tuesday.
"We live, breathe and start our families in the presence of toxic chemical mixtures and constant low-level toxic exposures, in stark contrast to the way chemicals are tested for safety," said Donna Ferullo, Director of Program Research at The Autism Society.
"Lead, mercury, and other neurotoxic chemicals have a profound effect on the developing brain at levels that were once thought to be safe," she said.
Studies have strongly suggested a genetic component in the cause of autism, but it's becoming clear that genetics alone isn't the whole story; there could be interactions between susceptibility genes and environmental chemicals.
Recent research from her group, appearing in the journal Epidemiology, showed that prenatal vitamins taken prior to conception seem to interact with certain metabolizing genes that are inherited. Those women who did not take the vitamins, and had the high-risk genotypes, were more likely to have a child with autism.

And the researchers extrapolate from there on chemical in general apparently.... Please go read the whole thing if this topic interests you...
As to those kossacks who mock regular, non-scientific people like myself who have expressed concerns about trusting the drug-obsessed medical community on the topic of autism: please take liberties with my virtual left ass cheek here and pucker up.
Now my virtual left ass is still hanging out so please.... let the flaming begin... educate me as to why chemicals don't trigger autism. I want to be educated and will delete if I'm wrong to put this out there. But if it is valid to air this news, explain why you NEVER discuss the array of studies on triggers of autism in your previous mocking diaries on this topic when the crank doctor in the UK got exposed? Aren't you just as bad as the crank for not airing that valid information?
For those people, it's all black and white. I suggest there's a gray area now and they should admit it they were wrong.
