DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz calls for Weiner’s resignation, and says,
This sordid affair has become an unacceptable distraction for Representative Weiner, his family, his constituents and the House — and for the good of all, he should step aside and address those things that should be most important — his and his family’s well-being.
Emphasis mine.
Dear Asshole: Weiner’s constituents don’t want him to resign, you stupid fucking coward. And it’s adorable that you’re so concerned about his family, since you and the rest of the corporatist Democrats don’t seem to give a flying fuck about the middle class families who are suffering all over the country. You didn't do a goddamn thing when you had the majority, and you're even more useless now. In fact, the only people who seem to be obsessively calling for Weiner’s resignation are Republicans and a bunch of cowardly Democrats, who are no doubt thrilled that this stupid sideshow is distracting attention away from their continuing failure to do any fucking goddamn thing to help improve the lives of struggling and suffering Americans.
What Weiner did was stupid. There is no doubt about that. But he didn’t (as far as we know) break any laws, and that should pretty much be the end of it. But, of course, it isn't. Now he has to seek "treatment" ... for what?! Sexting? Seriously?! SERIOUSLY?!
I’m sure the rising chorus of corporate-owned Democrat voices has nothing at all to do with Weiner’s consistently progressive, unashamedly-liberal voice and advocacy for actual people, instead of sucking the corporate cock like the rest of them.
I expect this bullshit from Republicans, but the feckless Democrats in congress have shown me, once again, that it is impossible to overestimate how stupid and cowardly they can be.
If Democrats and Republicans alike showed half as much interest in things that actually fucking matter and affect the people they supposedly represent as they do in pointless bullshit like sex (non) scandals, maybe the goddamn country wouldn't be struggling and suffering as much as it is.
