Sad news is out that Clarence Clemons, one of the greatest saxophonists in the history of Rock & Roll, and member of THE great E Street Band has suffered a stroke. Rolling Stone has confirmed the news first posted to 411.com that Clemons is "seriously ill after a stroke at his home in Florida."
Clemons has brought beauty and joy to many of our lives and now is the chance to give some of that love back. Positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Below is some of what he has shared with the world:
First, an introduction:
And then the solo that has brought more goosebumps to my skin than any other musician I have seen in 40 years of concert going. (And that includes Miles, Stones, Pink Floyd....)
The above is from THE hight of the E Street Band's power: The Darkness Tour. Thanks to YouTube and many DVDs there are lots of videos of this and other great Clarence moments.
The Big Man get the best props in the business from his boss and his fans, but he has also been honored on his own, here at the Virginia Legends of Music back in 2007.
I firmly believe that if the human race is still around in 500 years most will not know of the people we are posting about here every day, but they will be listening to the great musical artists that walk and create among us. Bless them all, with special thoughts to The Big Man.
