Although national coverage about abortion rights is usually dominated by fights at the federal level, many recent attacks on women's reproductive health have taken place in the states. In 2010, almost 1,000 such measures were introduced, and 89 were enacted. With anti-choice policymakers in control of a number of additional state legislatures and governorships, hostility to abortion rights has ramped up even further. This session aims to prepare local and online activists to fight back by providing analysis, strategies and success stories for countering harmful policies close to home.
