Or anyone else's. Really, they don't. They (and their enablers in the media) pounced on this scandal to bring Anthony Weiner, an attack dog against the right and Conservatives, to bring him down and get him out of their way, and silence the questioning into the Clarence Thomas scandal.
The reason David Vitter and John Ensign didn't resign, and because no one spent thousands of hours talking about their scandals, was because they don't care. Their constant talk about family values is a complete front and a dogwhistle to Conservative Christians who've been brainwashed to believe it' important to them.
They just don't care about morality or weird sexual proclivities. The only ones that care about this, are liberals, progressives and The Left. We sit here flagellating ourselves over the immorality of what Weiner did (whether it was sending the picture, lying about sending the picture, or lying about whethr it was acutally him), debating whether it was right or wrong, and whether or not he should have resigned.
People this is a total distraction! Step away! The Right is pointing and laughing at us at how consumed we are with this. They are immoral and they don't care the least little bit about Weiner's behavior outside of how they could, and did, exploit it for political gain.
And the media reported today that Congress is oh so relieved to have this distraction off their backs because all the media attention focused on this 'scandal' was keeping them from doing their jobs! As if the involvement of the media in their day to day proceedings has anything to do with their ability to do their job. In fact the media looking away should give them free reign to go full speed ahead with their jobs. And Speaker Boehner, actually had the audacity to say that Americans are looking for them to create jobs, and Weiner's resignation will allow them to get back to doing so. I don't think anyone actually believes any of that but he got to say it and America got to hear him say it.
And don't forget to watch GMA'a exclusive interview with President Obama tomorrow morning, where President Obama will weigh in on the extremely important and weighty subject of Rep. Anthony Weiner's resignation.
