The AFL-CIO and Laughing Liberally have teamed up on a series of videos illustrating the importance of collective bargaining.
Along with three humorous takes on the issue, the website features real workers talking about the importance of collective bargaining in their own lives. Linda Oalican of Domestic Workers United says:
In isolation, a worker or a sector of workers has no power. We can only find power, you know, in numbers.
According to AFGE member Michael Gravinese,
What I’ve gained from collective bargaining is the ability to have a voice in the workplace, a structured voice. Without that, a collective bargaining agreement, in essence management dictates.
