Robin,
I can't believe what I'm hearing from folks? All, similar letters to yours.
Are you a Union member? If so, are they the communist giving you this propaganda?
Do you know the who, what, when, where, why, and how, of Fidel Castro?
Hitler rose to power using and blaming the jews for the destruction of the German economy. Castro built his army of murderers by blaming the rich bankers and capitalist for destroying Cuba and taking advantage of the Cuban people. Hummmm?

Sen Tom Hackbarth (R-MN-Insane) recently equated union members with hitler and stalin. (Given that both of these genocidal maniacs targeted worker democracy for suppression his letter definitely has a casual acquaintance with reality.)
This is the letter that I wrote to him.
Rep Hackbarth,
Your recent letter to a constituent equating unions and Hitler was unfounded. I was quite concerned about your letter. See http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/.... Your constituents have a duty and responsibility to express their concerns to you. As their representative you have a responsibility to listen respectfully to their concerns. Words have power and intent is in the ear of the beholder. Your words effectively shut down any possibility of productive dialogue with others. Undoubtedly the state has budget problems but members of both political parties have a responsibility to work together to find common ground.
Debates about the size, scope and responsibility of government predate the founding of the US as a nation. I personally believe that the solution to our state budget problems must include revenue increases as well as expenditure cuts. The state tax burden falls disproportionately on the working and middle class in MN. Middle class tax payers pay approximately 13% in combined state taxes while the very wealthy pay about 9%. I certainly think that the very wealthiest MN can be asked to pay slightly higher taxes as part of the solution. Especially after you consider the very real historical subsidies that they have received from the taxpayers of MN. (Schools that prepare productive workers, roads, police and fire protection etc, clean water, direct tax subsidies for economic development.) Each of these subsidies are in fact a loan and an obligation that should be repaid to the commons.

Rep Hackbarth is not the sharpest tool in the shed. (His official bio cites his graduation from a MN Community College without further educational attainment. His other claim to fame is managing to walk around a Planned Parenthood clinic carrying a concealed weapon lookin for a "woman he met online.") However he has yet to answer my letter and I don't expect a reply from this coward.
