So, they went and did it again.
The state of California temporarily dropped me from Medi-Cal, resulting in a hiccup of my aide's paychecks as well as Social Security docking my check to cover my premiums for the month. Fortunately, I was able to jump on it and get it straightened out pretty quickly this time, so I'm already back in the system and everything has been fixed, it's just a matter of waiting for money. In the meantime, I've had an issue with some of the money that I did have falling out of the bag that I carry my wallet in because the bag is defective, and unexpected medical expenses for my wife who is not covered under any of my benefits because she's Canadian. So, I'm in a bit of a spot.
I've been unable to get a hold of the webmaster where my domain as parked to get access to the control panel so my friend can revamp the site and install some new software to make it function better, but since they registered the name and provided the web space completely for free and without being asked to, I'm not exactly upset or anything. Life gets busy, and I have to assume that's the case, and regardless, I appreciated their kindness and generosity. Unfortunately, it does mean that I haven't really been able to do much with the site and further promote my art.
My prices have changed recently, but because I'm in a tight spot and can really use the help, I'm going to cut everything in half for anyone that's interested so that I can try to dig out of this hole. I'd rather cut my prices and get business than to turn business away. I really can't afford to be picky right now.
So, as of this moment, all black and white portraits are $50 per person instead of $100 per person, and all color portraits are $75 per person instead of $150 per person. Pets count the same as a person, if you're wondering. I'll post a few samples below to give you an idea of what I do, if you aren't familiar with my work - I'm in a wheelchair and draw with my mouth. As always, donations are greatly appreciated too! If you're interested in art, or just helping out, contact me via e-mail at xlarimex(at)gmail(dot)com.
NOTE If you're still waiting on art, and have sent me a photo in the mail to draw from, I'm still having scanner problems and have been unable to scan the photographs. I apologize for taking so long on this, but I'm at the mercy of the equipment that I have. If I cannot get this fixed soon, I will refund your money in July. Likewise, potential customers should be warned that if you send a hardcopy photo instead of a digital file in e-mail, I will be unable to work on the art until the problem is resolved. My apologies.
Thanks!
5:13 PM PT: I just realized that the rattling I've been listening to for the last 45 minutes? Is the window AC unit about to die. I know some of you have tipped this, but so far I haven't received any interest. Any help is greatly appreciated!
