Goldman Sachs disguised Greece's debt. And the band played on.
A nation that allowed its citizens six weeks of paid vacation and eighty percent pay with a retirement age of fifty three is now mocked for it's generous safety net.
And that fucking band kept on a-playin.
Goldman Sachs got away.
The people of Greece did not.
This is their plan, this is how they do it.
Cue that shitty-ass band.
"You debt is your own fault! You spent too much on your people!"
Greece's debt per person is around 44,000.
Ours is 45,000.
Does no one hear that band?
So what do we get for our 45,000 a person debt? Do we get a nice six-week vacation mandated? No? Oh well, surely we get a decent retirement age, like fifty-five or something....? No? Okay. Well, surely we have single-payer healthcare like they do--right?
No?
Must be that damned band playing.
On. And. On.
So...what do we spend so much on?
Billionaires. Millionaires. War. Almost twelve years worth of giveaways to the richest and death to our enemies. a hundred thousand troops in a country devoid of our enemy.
And we trot out the band to play a victory tune when we allow a paltry ten or so thousand to come home.
Let me tell you something...that music you hear?
You've been hearing it for a long time. It's been the same song on a loop, over and over again.
Bailouts.
Goldman Sachs.
Tax cuts for the rich.
No room for YOU!
No room for single-payer healthcare! No ROOM for a mandated vacation! No ROOM for an earlier retirement age! No ROOM for a massive, targeted clean energy stimulus. No ROOM for sanity!
Because obviously the problem is US!!
Greece is too greedy, and WE are too greedy! Peasants can't have decent wages! No! The band...they've come to collect. And they won't stop playin til it's all...fuckin...theirs.
And the band plays on...
