ThinkProgress posted today a youtube clip featuring GOP hopeful and Tea Party favorite Herman Cain whining about Jon Stewart's jokes.

Herman Cain argued that Jon Stewart attacked him on his show because of his skin color. In other words, Mr Cain is implying that Jon Stewart is racist.

The controversy began when early this month ThinkProgress reported that Herman Cain told an audience in Pella, Iowa that he would not sign a bill longer than three pages. Later Jon Stewart picked up ThinkProgress' story on his show poking fun at Cain. He joked that Herman Cain if elected president would require everything to be shorter.

Jon Stewart said : "Treaties will have to fit on the back of a cereal box … The State of the Union Address will be delivered in the form of a fortune cookie"

Apparently Jon Stewart's humor didn't please Herman Cain who on wednesday went after the comedian. To an audience during a campaign event in Iowa, Mr Cain accused Jon Stewart of attacking him because he is black. Straight face.

Here the Transcript via ThinProgress :

I did an interview on Sean Hannity’s show on the way over here. I had been traveling the campaign so much I did not hear what Jon Stewart said on Chris Wallace’s Sunday morning show last Sunday. Where he was mocking my three page bills. Did you see that show? And then he mocked me with a, you know, Amos and Andy type brogue. And Sean said you didn’t see that? And I said no Sean, I didn’t see that, I’m out campaigning. And so they played the clip. And I said well Sean first of all if he really thinks that I’m serious about a bill only being three pages the joke’s on him. And I said secondly, as far as him mocking me, look I’ve been called every name in the book because I’m a conservative, because I’m black.

Sticks and stone may break my bones, words are not going to hurt me. I was on that radio show because a happen to be an American black conservative. I labeled my self. I’m an American Black Conservative, an A-B-C. They keep trying to put labels on me. I have been called “Uncle Tom,” “sell out,” “Oreo,” “shameless.” So the fact that he wants to mock me because I happen to be a black conservative, in the words of my Grandfather, “I does not care. I does not care.”

hmmmm Jon Stewart mocked people who are doing stupid things regardless of their races or religions.

I wonder how Jon Stewart will fire back at Cain for his dishonest accusation

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
