This diary isn't about politics. It isn't about health care, or Washington state, or my personal journeys. It's about one thing: our dear and greatly missed friend Kris Froland's (exmearden's) remembrance book, and one more chance to sign it.
The remembrance book isn't for us. It's for Kris' three daughters. I'm posting this diary to give people here a chance to sign the remembrance book with a comment if you haven't already done so, or if you've thought of something else you want to include.
We brought the remembrance book, a sparkly black scarf, and a black mug filled with colored, black and blue pens and colored pencils to Netroots Nation last week and had the book and writing implements at our table with an empty chair decorated with the scarf (Kris' chair) so people there could sign the remembrance book for her daughters. I posted a diary, NN11: The Empty Chair, so people not at NN11 could sign the remembrance book as well. We will print that diary out in color, on the best paper we can find, and include it in the remembrance book. We'll do the same with this one. Then we'll present the book to Kris' daughters so they can have a keepsake of how their mother is remembered by her friends. I know what our contribution to it will be, besides our handwritten memories: dog prints from her little bitty dogs, whom we've adopted. I need to find a nontoxic ink pad for that.
So please take this opportunity to leave a memory or something that makes you think of Kris so it can be included in her remembrance book. Thank you.
