This guy is running to be a senator from Missouri and he might get elected. What an obnoxious asshat. Think Progress is on the story:
I think NBC has a long record of being very liberal and at the heart of liberalism really is a hatred for God and a belief that government should replace God. And so they’ve had a long history of not being at all favorable toward many of things that have been such a blessing to our country…This is a systematic effort to try to separate our faith and God, which is a source in our belief in individual liberties, from our country. And when you do that you tear the heart out of our country.
Think Progress: GOP Rep. Todd Akin: ‘The Heart Of Liberalism Really Is A Hatred For God’
This was in reference to the phony "outrage" last week that "NBC played the Pledge of Allegiance but imprudently omitted the words 'under God' and 'indivisible'" at some televised golf match. Oh, the horror!
Now the demogogue is doubling down:
AKIN: No, I don’t think there’s anything to apologize for. I think I can clarify that I was talking about public references, too. I think that clarifies it a little bit. But there’s just such a historic pattern there, that I think that it probably could’ve been clarified but no, I’m not going to apologize for what I see liberalism doing in trying to take God out.
Think Progress: GOP Rep. Todd Akin: ‘No, I’m Not Going To Apologize’ For Saying Liberals Hate God
You're right, Mr. Akin: I don't like your conception of God, a God of hatred, greed, and discrimination, of war over peace, of rich over poor, Ayn Rand in the guise of "Christianity."
Akin votes for every attack on the poor and all the wars. A REAL Conservative, a toady of the rich.
He forgot this long ago:
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

I'll leave with the comments of two people of faith, a Jew and a Christian, who find Todd Akin's comments to be "grotesque" and ignorant:
Rabbi Jim Bennett of Congregation Shaare Emeth in St. Louis, Missouri scolded Akin for his “grotesque” attack and for making “a mockery of his own understanding of these liberal values and of God.”
Unitarian Rev. Krista Taves of St. Louis told Akin, “You know very little about liberals, and sadly enough, you also seem to know very little about God and his son Jesus.”
Think Progress: GOP Rep. Todd Akin: ‘No, I’m Not Going To Apologize’ For Saying Liberals Hate God
Since atheists and agnostics do not see evidence of a supernatural being, it's hard to say they hate something that they do not think exists. Some may dislike the concept, but that is different.
You know, I really don't like Claire, although I'll be voting for her. This demogogic pig makes it more likely I'll give Claire money. He's worth defeating just for the fun of it, the art form of retribution on earth! :-)
If I were Todd Akin, I'd be looking over my shoulder for a thunderbolt. If there is a God, he or she can't be very pleased with Mr. Akin.
