This will brighten your day. Though you do have to wait for the punch line at the end.
I thought at first that this was perhaps sarcasm given all the federal government has been doing to help the people of South Dakota respond to flooding this year.
But having read the tag line at the end, I now think it's just a brilliant example of a hypocritical conservative.
This was published yesterday in the South Dakota Argus Leader.
Wait for it . . .
People Must Help Themselves
You gotta love the letter from Larry Kroneman in the June 6 Argus Leader. He is right on target. Our government is way out of control. It is spoon-feeding society into a mass of people with their hands out crying, "Help me."
How about this? Help yourself. Find a job. Or create one. Get off welfare and Medicaid, or better yet, get rid of all that crap.
Yes, we have unfortunate people who are unable to work. So family, churches, neighborhoods and friends help them.
If able-bodied people can't take care of themselves, why should I? Isn't this nature? Survival of the fittest? Why is government always messing around with nature? She fights back. Think about that, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, before you build another dam.
We are speedily heading for a socialist system. Capitalism is the American way. If I'm smart enough and got the guts to make millions, I am free to do so. If you want to punch a time clock at John Morrell, you are free to do so. Soon we all will be serfs working for the man.
Let the old and sick die off. That's the way God intended it. Our country is a laughingstock. We have no respect of other countries. Look at all the people being housed, fed and clothed and given medical service in prisons. Just because they like to get high. Let 'em get high. Who cares?
Wake up. Get a life. Help yourself. Take back America.
