I realize I am like one of only five boxing fans left in the world. But right now, on HBO, Vladimir Klitschko is about to fight David Haye (in Hamburg, Germany) for every heavyweight belt in front of 60,000 very loud fans.
For those of you that don't follow boxing, Klitschko has maybe been the most dominate fighter in the world for a number of years:
For more than five years, Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) has been heavyweight champion. He has rolled through opponent after opponent in his nine title defenses, winning eight by knockout, one by shutout decision, and barely lost a round along the way.
He has unified two belts and has as many defenses as the prime Mike Tyson did during his first glorious reign.
Oh and did I mentioned the fight is outdoors and it is raining cats and dogs. So if you are a fight fan please join me below the fold and lets hope for a good fight. They don't happen that often anymore.
I have no idea who is going to win, but having seen at least the last 20 Klitschko fights he is a very, very bad man. Often considered to be boring, cause he'll throw jab after jab and beat the person bloody before going for the knock-out, he is also known to have something of a "glass" jaw. That always makes for an interesting fight, since one punch could end it.
Haye (25-1, 23 KOs) is a much smaller fighter, but with power and speed. He only has five heavyweight fights under his belt.
Oh did I mention they literally hate each other. At a reason press conference Haye showed up wearing a tee-shirt showing him holding the severed heads of Klitschko and his brother (who is a former world title holder).
This should be pretty interesting.
Oh and not only is it raining and the fight is outdoors, but when they just went to announce Haye, he wasn't ready. I predicate strange things are going to happen in this fight and I'll be disappointed at the result.
