Dear State Representative Mary Kiffmeyer,
We, the non-millionaire citizens of Minnesota, have a bone to pick with you.
“It’s not about revenue,” Kiffmeyer said. “It’s about a tax increase, because they want to go after those who’ve actually worked hard.”

So, apparently if you make less than a million dollars you don't work hard, and haven't worked hard.
Mrs. Kiffmeyer, how many millionaire teachers do you know? Police officers? Fire fighters? Cashiers? Servers, well, they do get upwards of $100,000, I suppose. Assembly line workers? Nurses? Executive Assistants? Day Care Providers? Temporarily laid off State Employees? State Representatives and State Senators? (did you mean to inadvertently insult your colleagues?) You get the point.
The quote reminds me of what MN House Tax Chair Greg Davids had this to say about rich people and their intellect. He has informed us on a few different occasions, to paraphrase, that rich people aren't stupid.
So, does that mean that we are stupid if we aren't rich?
I've met some pretty "stupid" rich people, and some pretty "smart" poor people. But apparently only the rich millionaires worked hard to get where they were.
Reminds of this sentiment:
Some rich people think they've worked hard to climb the ladder of success, but they don't realize they were born on the top rung.
That's, of course, not to discredit the people who have climbed the ladder of success from the ground up. Entrepreneurial spirit is a good thing, and achieving success is something to admire, and celebrate. But, I guess it's only because rich people work hard, so they deserve all the success in the world.
And speaking of success, and working hard, congratulations on the hard work of running a bank (that first you denied having any stake in) into the ground. http://www.mnprogressiveproject.com/...
I would hope you would realize, State Representative Mary Kiffmeyer, that according to you; of the millions of people living in Minnesota only about 7,000 actually worked hard, or are working hard.
It's not every day you get to insult a state's working population with one fell swoop.
Sincerely,
The Non-Millionaire Minnesota Citizens League
P.S. Rep Kiffmeyer, can you teach Greg Davids how to send e-mails? HE ALWAYS RESPONDS IN ALL CAPS, but perhaps he means to yell at us.
