Hi there Kossacks!
I'd like to introduce to you an idea that has been rattling around in my mind for the past few months. That idea is APA Kos, a group for the discussion of the issues important to the Asian/Pacific American community.
I don't intend for this group to be a top-down organization, but rather a loose coalition of authors and activists and a place for issues to be discussed, history to be explored, and anything else that the community wants to pursue.
Nor do I intend this as a mimic to other groups. This is what we want to make of it - a fresh start.
APA Kos doesn't discriminate - you don't have to be an Asian/Pacific American to contribute - and we won't judge on "asian-ness". That said, the dialogue should remain respectful.
Join me past the squiggly, and let's get started on building this group up!
OK, so there's an APA group...
Do you write diaries about the APA community? Do you want to start? If so, become a contributor/editor! Send a message to me (or APA Kos), and I'll send you an invite. I can't be the only editor/admin, so anyone interested in getting their feet wet in the exciting world of DailyKos blogs is welcome!
Do you want to keep up to date on what we publish? Follow us (the heart)!
What will this group do?
Well, thats up to YOU. I envision a group that covers some of the rich history that Asian/Pacific Americans have contributed to this country. Personal stories. Calls to action for issues affecting the community. Needed attention for APA candidates and the APA Caucus. And anything YOU want to cover.
So, what do you think? Comments (and requests for editor-ships!) below, please.
