This was an inspiration that came to me shortly after I tendered my resignation to Daily Kos RKBA Group.

If anyone wonders why I did that, I feel I responded quite properly to a diary that said, in essence, "Y'all RKBAers suck, so don't post in my thread and I won't post in yours."

Fuck THAT shit.

If someone tells me, "Don't post in my diary", that's the FIRST thing I'm gonna do. every got-damn time. I PROMISE you.

So what happened was, another group member told me, Bad Kestrel! Bad Bad Bad!" and said the group was being embarrassed by "the likes of you."

The likes of me!

I got no likes around here. This is Daily Kos, not Facebook.

So, I resigned from Daily Kos RKBA. But not before posting this diary.

It's proven quite liberating, actually. Now I don't get wagging fingers and clucking tongues so much any more.

On the jump.......

So I was reading around, I forget what it was exactly but something brought PFLAG to mind.

Now I know you know about PFLAG. Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.  A great supportive organization, with a long and commendable history of doing good things, for many, many years.

And that gave me an idea.

If anyone thinks there hasn't been a coordinated effort to discredit Daily Kos' RKBA group and drive them off the site, I got an automatic weapon I wanna sell you at a gun show without a background check.

But these RKBA folks feel this need to be civil, with DNRs and all that shit, and that kind of ties their hands in dealing with the trolly troll trolls.

So, I propose a new group:

Parents, Friends and Family of Daily Kos RKBA.

So if you have a family member, a friend, or even a child that is a member of Daily Kos RKBA, this group is for you.

Show up in their diaries. Treat the trolls like trolls should be treated.

Defend them from the charges of being "a gang of bullying thugs" because they effectively refute most calls for new gun control measures.

Don't let RKBA be accused of "driving people off the site."

No one has ever been "driven" from Daily Kos by anything but an administrative ban.

If someone leaves, they chose to do so.

No one is responsible for that choice but them and them alone.

You don't have to be a gun owner to join this group.

You don't REALLY even have to be a gun rights supporter. You could be  agun control advocate.

You just have to support the right of Daily Kos RKBA to exist, to be free of charges of "thuggery" because they engage their issue, and to accept that offsite collaboration is not an offense of any sort.

You also can't be a member of Daily Kos RKBA. That's the only disabling factor from joining this group, I'm proposing to start, should there be enough interest in it.

(UPDATE: I might have to rethink that part. See one of my two replies to mconvente. )

If you're interested in joining PFRKBA, PM me and if I get enough responses, I'll start the group tomorrow and start adding people.

Tomorrow is Friday.

Gotta get down on Friday.

Today is Thursday.

To my friends in Daily Kos RKBA, I say this, with love:

Happy Thursday.

Peace Out.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
