So far, I've seen two other incidents of Republicans' office aides that "can't speak" for the congress critters. Apparently, the Congress Critters think WE, the American people, don't deserve to know where they stand.
The intern said he did not know Rep. Berg's position. I asked if Berg were open to compromise. He didn't know. I asked if Berg were willing to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations. He did not know. I pointed out that Berg is one of the wealthiest freshman Republicans and his portfolio would suffer greatly if the U.S. defaults. I asked if Berg seriously thought that would be preferable to having to pay his fair share in taxes. The intern did not know. I said, "Seriously? He's running for the senate. He can't be that stupid, can he?" The intern did not know.

"Hey, I'm one of Cong. Ros-Lehitnen's consituents and I wanted to know her position on the debt ceiling."
"I'm sorry, I can't speak for the congresswoman. We're not allowed to."
"What? I'm just interested in her position. I bet if I asked you her position on tax cuts, you'd give me a canned answer. What is going on now is potentially putting the entire economy at risk, and you can't tell me my congresswoman's opinion on the matter?"
"I'm sorry, I can take a message and pass it on to her."

This is the EXACT same response I got from Ben Quayle's office.
What about everyone else? Are your Representatives ducking your questions? WHO the HELL do they think they are?!
