This is about the debt ceiling debate.

I think it's a good thing that Obama has been pushing this the way he has been. He is in a somewhat dicey position to win re-election as it is, what with the racism and anti-intellectualism both, that are common in this country.

I am no one, but I will have my say, and that is to say that I think he is acting not as a puppet now. He may have fallen for some of that before.

But he may have seen the light now.

He was an amateur, but a quick study. How many people on this blog disagree with that? How many who have ever gotten any sense of the man will honestly disagree with that?

Barack Obama is a very smart man. Anyone who states otherwise, can be laughed off quickly. Yeah, and he's, well, he's half-black. Oh well. Some of us don't even notice anymore. He's just a guy who is POTUS, nice-looking guy, smart, talented.

I'm seeing him as a martyr now. Just the fact that he's taken this as far as he has, is leading him to that. He's gonna get blamed for the sneaky shit set up in advance by all of those words-fail-me polluted sick horrible greed-heads who are ruining our lives.

I'm, sadly, with Pluto now. I'm so sorry that he had to come to this. He had a ton of potential and now this? Better that we had been cunning enough to laugh and throw McCain back at them, like some sort of refused, lightly decaying, bait, and also just ignored that whole Palin thing.

But still, Obama's not all that old, and I bet he's getting more canny all the time. I hope he comes out of this positively, one way or another, and continues to be the brilliant and caring person that many here believe he truly is. I know he has tons of potential to help, like Jimmy Carter has.

I think this whole thing is demonstrating more and more though, that it was all a set up. I don't blame Obama for that, though I do think he kind of fell for the lure of power. And please ask yourselves, fellow Kossacks...those of you who are in politics, those of you who are in positions where you might have a chance of making the big time..would you not have made the gamble?

And those of us who know who is at fault, aren't going around pointing fingers at Barack Hussein Obama. Pfft.

Just sayin'.

I'm reminded of games I played, as a child, where one would stand in the middle of a circle and the other children would throw the ball at the child in the circle.

There are many ways to write rules for such a game.

What happens when you are hit by the ball? What happens when you catch the ball? What happens when someone on the outside of the circle catches the ball and throws it back at you?

The cheese fucking stands alone.

The cheese stands alone

One thing about being the cheese,
Is that there is a lot of room.
And also, you get to be in the middle,

It has been said
That when your ass is on the line
You are well situated.

It has also been said, that he who hesitates is lunch.

But, what else is the cheese to do?
All there alone in the middle
Dodging relentlessly.
It is a sort of structured hesitation, all of this getting out of the way.

Backed off; everybody else is in the picture.
The cheese is the camera.

The cheese is the lunch.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

right now, because I really am good with his making this run to a standoff.

I really am. I don't know why he's doing it, or what he thinks he has to gain by doing it.

But I think it's the right thing to do, and I bless him for that and will vote for him next year for it.

And it can get really nasty too, when played by those who throw the ball really hard at the person in the middle.

Isn't the cheese stands alone from the Farmer In The Dell? Where everyone dances around, choosing people, until one person is left and then they're the cheese who stands alone?

I forget, It's been a long time since I was in Kindergarten. Although I think that's where Congress belongs. Send them back and let them learn all over again, until they're able to figure it out!

Great analogy though Miep, although I like Pres too much to call him the cheese.

whatever it is that you have and I don't...

I loved the diary itself, and that title really got me.

Here's to hoping that our President finds a bit of good luck this weekend. Truthfully, (most of) the other 306 million of us could do with a bit of good luck rubbing off on us, through him.

I just wish he'd heard and believed Howard Dean all those years ago, when he said, in Sacramento, California in 2003, "You can't trust the Republicans"...

Howard was right, way back when.

I think this whole process is clarifying things for a lot of people who have been watching him.

It can't be anything other than crazy-making.
